Simple Man... Oster two slice toaster perfection

Wednesday, May 19, 2010 by Jane Toast
oster two slice toaster, kitchen gourmet toasterAn Oster two slice toaster is such a simple and delightful addition to any kitchen.  Just like the song says... "Something you love an understand."  Ah, the ol' two-slicer.

Yeah, I'm watching American Idol... and Lee just ROCKED Simple Man!

Simon is right, he just "crushed" the competition in round one... as any self-respecting (toast loving) contestant would do.  Never settle for second best.  BAH!  Second is the first loser!!!

See, sometimes you don't have to get caught up in all the complicated madness.  When in doubt, keep it simple and honest.

Pick a quality machine.  Just insert two slices of your favorite bread product... wah-lah!  TOAST!

Amazing how much fun you can have if you stick to the plan. I mean, you know I appreciate all the extra bells and whistles as much as the next guy, especially if there's a egg poucher or extra-wide slots for bagels... but simple is good.

Keep it simple.   You won't be disappointed.

Just like Lee, delivering a performance each and every week.. just like an Oster two slice toaster.

uh, oh... Casey... also killing a John Mayer song.  The competition is stiff this evening.

I wonder what my girl's going to bring next.  Shhh... don't tell anyone... but I'm hoping she wins it.  Go girl!

The Bagel Family Toaster

Tuesday, March 2, 2010 by Betty Bagel
two-slot toaster, bagel toasterNow that I'm allowed to add a few carbs back into my diet (whole wheat, of course), I've been looking for a new toaster for bagels. As you're all well aware, we're bagel fanatics over here, so we settle for nothing less than the best.

I have to admit I've been pretty impressed with the Haier two slot toaster. For its reasonably low price, you have the option of turning off the burner on the "top of the bagel" side so it doesn't get undesirably brown.

kitchenaid four slice toaster, onyx balck toasterOf course, if you're willing to spend a bit more money (and we Bagels never skimp on our toasting devices), nothing beats the sleek Kitchenaid four slot toaster for keeping all our Bagel bellies happy.

Otherwise, I wouldn't even mind a Smith toaster blue fo rmy bagels.  Those seem to be great for them too.

Pearl Metallic Toaster Not So Hoity Toity

Sunday, February 28, 2010 by Jane Toast
pearl metallic toaster, kitchen gourmet toaster ovenNothing quite says hoity toity like a pearl metallic toaster.  (Nothing wrong with a little hoity and a little toity in my opinion... as long as it's just a little anyways.)

You can't say this isn't a cool color though.
It gleams in the sunlight.   It's sleek and super-shiney and reflective with all it's metally-ness going on and the pearl irridescense-ness...

Yeah, so what if I'm jealous that this 2 slot bagel toaster is probably a lot cooler than I am?

There's no way I could get away with all that pearly goodness going on...

Fine.  I admit it.  There's no hoity-toity here (and what's that even mean anyways?)  Nope.  Just a solid, sleek appliance to pair perfectly with the Kitchen gourmet toaster oven that's out on your counter.

I could only  hope to someday be in the presence of such a fine masterpiece.  I bow down to you owe pearly metallic one, the epitomie of craftsmanship all all things hoity, but definitely not toity.

Bobsledding Reminds Me of My 4 Slot Bagel Toaster

Sunday, February 28, 2010 by Jane Toast
four slot bagel toaster, 4 slot bagel toaster51 second vertical drop, with 5Gs of force at 95 MPH at maximum speed... what an adrenaline rush bob-sledding must be!

Talk about teamwork.   Four guys pushing and hopping into the sled and then working the corners down the track.  Beautiful, really.

It reminds me of the unison of a four slot bagel toaster.  Popping each of the half bagel slices into the toaster slot, one at a time.  Selecting the right setting, then pushiing the lever down.

GO!  Watching the red glow of the coils heating up each slice while they work as a team to toast (just one side) of each delicious bagel.

When their all done right at the same time, you know you've won gold.
You just can't replicate the adrenline rush and the teamwork you get with an excellent four slice bagel toaster, like the ones you can find at Global Toaster.

A Sweaty Toaster... Is that Possible?

Friday, February 26, 2010 by Jane Toast
sweaty toaster slot, sweaty sunbeam toaster ovenWith the 2010 Winter Olympics on TV, and the weather so cold and snowy out, it's hard to even imagine the need to turn on the air conditioner right now, but I couldn't wait to post this funny cartoon about this poor guy's oster digital toaster sweating!

Look!  It's so cute when it's miserable... the poor thing.  teehee.

Standing in it's own little puddle of... hmmm.

Uh, guy?  Maybe it's not such a good idea to stand too close to your puddled 2 slot bagel toaster.

If you look closely, you might just notice that that cord is still plugged into the wall...  yeah.   Slight oversight.

Quit staring at it and walk away.  Turn on your air conditioner, this will cost you way less in the long run... promise.

We wouldn't want you to make the Darwin's award list in 2010.  It's too early for that... or, then again, if he's not smarter than his own pearl metallic toaster then maybe mankind would be better off... who am I to judge?

Stuffed My Belly at Maggiano's! Toaster Oven Style!

Thursday, February 25, 2010 by Burnt Toast
cusinart toaster oven, toaster slot, toasters for saleI just ate so much I can't breathe.

How many times have you done it?  Sat down at a family-style restaurant (because "family-style" = stuff your face) and thought... I shouldn't be here.

Yep.  That was me tonight.

It kinda reminds me of when I'm staring at a plate of Eggo waffles... there's no limit.  I dive in, and keep going.  I'm lucky the Oster counterforms toaster by my side can keep up with the flurry of powdered sugar and crispy waffles flying at my face.

But, this was no plate of waffles... nooo....

I mean, I'm sooooo miserable.  I'll be spending the next 8 hours digesting (what should have been a plate full of waffles) spicy, heavy Italian food... ugh.  Talk about heartburn.

I never feel this way after dining on anything out of a Cuisinart toaster oven white or a 2 slot bagel toaster.  Learned my lesson... again.

Maybe I can sleep this off.

The Slotless Toaster!

Is this the Next Generation of Toasters?

Introducing the slotless toaster!  This device can toast any type of bread, regardless of its thickness.

The way it works is -  bread is placed directly on the heated flatbed surface - not inside narrow slots where sometimes you have to use a fork to get the toast out.

You can toast thick bagels or croissants, Texas toast, or baguettes. The toaster has a 700-watt heating element that radiates through the stainless-steel surface.

It also can be used for browning or defrosting bread quickly and evenly. You can select your preferred level of browning with the turn of a dial.  And the under-mounted crumb tray slides out for fast, easy cleanup.

I am not totally sold on this device yet.  I am still a sucker for a Delonghi Four Slice Toaster or a Oster Copper Toaster.

Let me know your thoughts!  Is this the Next Generation of Toaster?

Potato Bread in Your Toaster... Why Not?

Monday, February 15, 2010 by Jane Toast
toaster oven muffin, red four slice toaster, oster copper toasterI don't know why, but I've been thinking about potatoes lately.

Maybe it's the weather.  So, they make potato bread, and I was thinking about how toasted potato bread would be out of a Oster countertop toaster.

I wonder if potato bread is any thicker than regular bread?  The only thing I've definitely noticed about it is its odd potatoey yellow color.  (Not that anything yellow is ever a bad thing) it's just not, well... white bread.

If it is thicker, I bet a two slot bagel toaster would do the trick.  Maybe I should buy some on my way home today from work to try it out.  Afterall, what would be better on a snowy day than a bowl of yummy potato soup and some toasted potato bread to go with?

I can't imagine a more perfect potato dinner.

Tailgate toast!

Thursday, February 11, 2010 by Burnt Toast
Kitchen Gourmet Toaster Oven, Tfal Convection Toaster Oven, Commercial Bagel Toasters

This past fall I had to get back to the basics in tailgating, I only wish I had gotten a back to the basics toaster for the entire football season!

I took a road trip up to South Bend to watch the IRISH play and get back on track by toasting the Spartans!

The tailgate was awesome, we started out by doing a little kegs and eggs using a toaster with egg cooker! Great start to the morning, with some farm fresh eggs and two slices of wheat toast! We debated over the toaster with egg cooker versus the egg n muffin toaster, but the toaster with egg cooker won out! Needed a little more sustenance on a day like that.

Next we moved on to the real deal with some brats and sausages! Here's where it got a little crazy...ever had a brat cooked in a toaster?!?!? My friend's dad had the best two slice toaster I've ever seen! He toasted the bun in one slot and stuck the brat in the other! Now that's innovation!

By this time I was getting toasted, like you had stuck me in a 4-slice toaster!!! I had tapped the Rockies a few times at this point, if you know what I mean.

This was when I noticed the Michigan State fans using a "Hello Kitty Toaster Oven" at the tailgate next to me. NO COMMENT.

Then it was game time...the band, the gold helmets, J.C. looking down on us! Oh baby! I stopped at the concession stand to grab a bottle of water, and I noticed they not only had a classic toaster behind the counter, but they also had a couple of commercial bagel toasters. ND really knows how to do it!!

Moving into the last few minutes of the game, I thought he IRISH might be toast again....then the real J.C. (#7), hooked up with Golden Toast (Tate) for a big score on a 33 yard pass! Here we go! My pulse jumped, my heart skipped a beat. Then I might as well have shoved a toaster down my throat, as the Spartans started to drive down the field. Not this again! With just about a minute left, my boy Kyle snatched the ball out of the sky for the big interception....and an IRISH victory!

I have changed McCarthy's nickname to Gold Toaster!

After the game I celebrated with a few more libations and decided to go back to the classic toaster for one more round of food.

Nothing better than getting back to the basics! We turned Sparty into a piece of burnt toast!

I already can not wait till next season starts, I'm going to take a green toaster oven for good luck! Not like we'll need it though.

GO IRISH!!

Hamilton Beach Green Toaster

Monday, February 8, 2010 by Chris PY Waffle
Hamilton Beach Green Toaster, Toaster for BagelsYou are shopping for a new device to cook bread.  Naturally, and out of habit, you drift towards the old familiar classic metal toaster.   STOP!

Break the mold and consider the Hamilton Beach Green Toaster.  Completely retro yet with all the modern features including wide slots, defrost and of course a bagel button just like the commercial bagel toasters.

Why does this matter?
Because bagels need to be toasted differently on each side of course.   Until you have tried it, you really don't have an appreciation for a great bagel.

All that in a package that can only be described as cool.

Forget the avocado of your mother’s appliances and consider this green beauty to make a statement.   I saw the term 'counterscape' to describe how new kitchens are becoming real focal points and counter appliances play a huge role.   Not to mention efficiently getting your kids out the door as we get towards the first day of school.

Take advantage of the shopping available on the right side of this blog and find your own beauty.

Dualit and Beach House Dreams

Monday, February 8, 2010 by Chris PY Waffle
retro dualit 2 slice toaster, retro dualit toaster, retro toasterA dream I have is for a beach house.  Sort of the old fashioned kind that might be on Cape Cod back in the 40's or the Jersey Shore.

Think about the kitchen in this house...light colors, wood painted cabinets and, of course, the old fashioned refrigerator and stove.

The only thing I would really want from the 21st century would be this amazing retro dualit 2 slice toaster.

Fortunately it comes as a green toaster as well as a bunch of other colors.

Why no depend on some old toaster?  Well for one thing I don't want my dream beach house to burn to the ground, but I am also addicted to modern conveniences like extra wide 28mm slots for big fat bagels, not to mention the amazing productivity.

How's 65 slices an hour sound?

Proctor Silex Toaster Oven Review, Cuisinart Retro Toaster Oven, Microwave Toaster Oven Combo

Have you heard the news? The government is going to help us update our old appliances!
Certainly they should include those 2-slice and 4-slice toasters that have been sitting on our counters for years....afterall, they could be fire hazards.

My mouth is watering now as I look forward to upgrade to a Breville Stainless Steel Toaster or Cusinart Stainless Steel Toaster Oven.

This program starts in the Spring and details are being worked out....let's push for those toasters to be included!

At the least, I'll be able to replace my almond refrigerator and with all the $$$'s I'll save on electricity one of the best toaster ovens as reviewed on global toaster can find its way to my home.

Don't wait...start your search...let the energy savings begin!

Top Appliance this Season

You heard it here first folks! Mrs. Popup predicts the Back to Basics 4-slot Egg and Muffin Toaster will be the "Tickle Me Elmo" of the appliance world this holiday season!

Electronics are always a big hit....but this is something that everyone can enjoy!

Just a few samples from the reviews...

Make delicious egg-and-muffin sandwiches at home in about four minutes....can toast up to four slices of bread, English muffins, bagels, or croissants, while it simultaneously steam-poaches eggs and warms pre-cooked meat. Too Bad for Blue Willow Toaster Fans

Thursday, February 4, 2010 by Chris PY Waffle
blue willow toaster, kitchenaid blue willow toasterMost people don't know that the beautiful blue willow is no longer available.   A popular KitchenAid 4-slice toaster, the great features are still found in the model KMTT400SS as a silver four slice toaster.  What is great about the features of the Blue Willow are the things that make a great toaster anyway. Specifically, this is the perfect toaster for bagels.   It's one of the only blue toasters I know of that that cooks the sides differently.

Think about this for a second.   The cut end of a bagel is open and should be toasted.  The round part needs to be baked.   How many Bagel Toasters can make that claim?  Some additional features include:

    * One-Touch "Warm" Button
    * Easy-To-Operate Dial Shade Control
    * Precise Toasting with Even-Heat System
    * Extra Wide Slots
    * Easy Lift Lever
    * Self-Centering Bread Racks
    * Attractive, Rugged Metal Housing
    * Cool Reach Steel Side Panels
    * Steel Interior
    * Removable Crumb Tray
    * Under Base Cord Wrap

So sorry that the Blue Willow is no longer on the market, but you can get all the benefits with a silver one... just not the great looks. If you want to still buy a toaster online you have come to the right place.

Apple iPad - Nope This Isn't It

Thursday, January 28, 2010 by Jane Toast
toaster for bagels, toaster for apple, proctor and silex toasterSo Apple revealed their newest gizmo today, well, it should have been a cool new Apple spacesaver toaster oven or something, but it was only the Apple iPad.  You know, the next great gadget that the whole world will eye and wonder if they can't live without.

Well, I can one up that.  Check this out... no, no it's not the iPad, it's like that... only BETTER!

Yeah, it's got some Apple parts there, I see a logo anyways, but the best thing is the top.  YEP!  Two slot toaster right up on top there.  You can see it.  I know I do.

Never mind the broken plastic and the "workshop" around it... I'm sure this was assembled as carefully and precisely as the new iPad.  Took years of development and secrecy to get the apple toaster for bagels just right.

I can't wait 'til this hits the market.  The world won't know what they were missing 'til they see it- just the right combo of utility and creativity right here in a simple little Apple Toaster.

What the Hell Happened?

Wednesday, January 20, 2010 by GONE TOASTAL

cuisinart retro toaster oven, silver toaster oven

What the Hell Happened?

My God, when the best small toaster no longer serves its purpose, removing the innards in order to toast bagel bites in a pinch is beyond asinine even for a hungry teenager.

I know it took a good long time (and some skill and patience) to insert these bagel bites one by one and then shuffle them around like some hand-held game so they all are flat.  Jeez oh Pete!

But, the problem doesn't stop there.  How do you know when your four slot toaster snack is done?  They are not going to pop up!  The solution appears to be ripping off the side of the stainless steel toaster so you can see for yourself.

Hey, you might want to think about looking at the Oster Glass View Toaster that is sold on-line at Global Toaster.  Saves time, prevents messes and causes less injury.

Toaster and Hummer

Tuesday, January 19, 2010 by GONE TOASTAL

silver toaster oven, cuisinart retro toaster oven

I realized that when I am looking at toasters in stores or even on-line, I constantly hum.   I hum as I ponder why these marvelous appliances intrigue me so much.  It is a happy hum, so I am not going to worry about it.  It's not like I am not normal or anything.

I wasn't sure today if people were staring at me because of my beautiful toaster t-shirt that I wore or because of my humming.  But, whatever -- they need to get a life!

I realized that the appliance design is a huge, huge part of my love for the toaster.  I am happy that toasters are in a constant state of redesign.  This fact alone helps me get up and face each day!

But, when I saw this baby -- a De'Longhi toaster with a warming rack on top, I just about popped (no bun intended - ha!!!!) out of my skin!

The De'Longhi brushed metal toaster is a durable, stylish and beautiful 2-slice toaster. The warming rack lets you warm croissants, bagels and other already toasted items. It's two extra-long, extra-wide slots work in concert with self-adjusting grips to center food for precise, double sided toasting.

It was a wonderful hum-filled day and I will go to sleep counting toasters.

Just a Humble Bagel Toaster

Monday, January 18, 2010 by Jane Toast
bagel toasters, best bagel toasterLook at this lovely brushed metal toaster with it's wide slots perfect for bagel toasting.

It could be the best bagel toaster I've seen in awhile...

I like the classic stylings, the easy to use knobs and buttons.  There's no overkill here.

Just one of your bagel toasters ready to serve up crispy bagels as you like them.

No need for branding... I don't see a name on this.  Could this be a kitchenaid stainless steel toaster?

Who knows?  What's important is that it toasts bagels perfectly EVERY TIME.

Just a humble nameless highest rated toaster... that's what this is.

Mr. Waffle Hung Up on Toasters

Friday, January 15, 2010 by Jane Toast

hanging toaster ovenMr. Waffle?  Is that you?

If a hanging toaster oven is in your future, you might want to reconsider.

Could be a bad omen.

Chris Py, stick to a two slot bagel toaster... or anything that's not hanging.

This photo makes me nervous.

I know Mrs. Pop-Up caught "toasteritis" and has been on hiatus from it... I hope that hasn't gotten to you too.

Maybe you should hide out by the kitchen corner toaster just to be safe.

Just saying... hung up on "waffle" it's just not a good sign.

I think I'll go consult the Ouija board now.

Happy Little Slice of Toast, that Mr. Toast

Saturday, January 2, 2010 by Jane Toast
I don't know what it is about this clip that makes me smile.

Where did Mr. Toast come from?
Did he just hop up out of a single slot toaster and decide to make his way down the street?

How is it that he's just such a happy little fella?  Where is he going?  ...to see Miss Pop Tart down the way for their weekly Toastmaster bagel toaster luncheon?

Could it be that it's just a happy little slice of toast strolling along?  How do I know he's so happy anyways?  Is it the pep in his walk?  The care-free whistling?  His little arms bouncing along at his sides?

I have so many questions, and no smart toaster to answer them.

Whatever it is, something about Mr. Toast stolling along makes me happy.

Roommate? Go 4-slice Toaster Oven

Tuesday, December 8, 2009 by Jane Toast
Hamilton Beach Toastation Toaster OvenLook at this the jumbo version of the Hamilton Beach Toastation Toaster Oven.   Instead of just the two slice toaster up on top, there are four slots.

This doubles the capacity and doubles the fun!  You have enough to feed yourself and your roommate now.  You'll be their best friend!  You’ll be their best friend’s, best friend.

With this you’ll be able to fit a pizza in it for dinner as well.

For the college-bound a bagel toaster oven is the way to go.  You get the pop up toaster and the toaster oven features all in one spacesaving machine.

Start your mornings off right, and throw this on top of your mini-frig.  You know you love it.
