Set out to do a Proctor Silex Toaster Oven Review I am trying to figure out what feature to highlight first.
Well...as you can see from the picture, this is one large black toaster oven! For a family or just something to keep in the pantry and pull out for parties, this baby seems like it's the right size to back up a traditional oven. The other great thing about the Proctor Silex Toaster Oven is its price. Frankly, it's cheap. We have a similar model to this one and it's only gets used a few times a year....so price can be an important consideration.
I've heard about the Europro Toaster Oven and I'm going to have to do some investigating, but if you look at this design, I can't imagine something that is more 'euro'....
Actually, it looks more like something from Star Trek...like I should just ask it for something and they miraculously appear....
So as it should become obvious to anyone who comes across this blog that our goal here is to write content that might entertain, but the primary goal is to leverage this content to target toaster keywords.
So sometimes you might see goofy lines like "Toaster Die Cast" which normally would make no sense at all unless you understand the context.
Saying all that to say this: What makes a die cast kitchen appliance like this so special is the sense of quality you get. Only the best stainless steel toaster comes die cast.
Ok drivel… I know. I only wish I sometimes knew more about what I was talking about.....
What I do know is that you should never scrimp on a toasting device. And you have come to the right spot to buy toaster online (right, another sentence that makes very little sense... lol)
One of the best toasters you can buy according to Men's Journal is the Dualit 2-slice toaster. You are going to really like the manually operated lift leaver that keeps the toaster down until your are ready for it.
Never forget that looks matter!
I'm jealous of Jane for coming up with that toaster song the other day so I'm working on a country song about my infatuation with Dualit...
"Two Slice Metal Toaster Stainless Steel...let me tell you how I truly feel..
My love for you is really, really real"
You never burn my bagels, you never fail to please...I'm really sorry I tried to make a grilled cheese..."
Seriously...I thought Jane Toast was nuts when she started talking about an Egg and Muffin toaster. I had just purchased a Tefal four slice Toaster and couldn't think that I would ever want to have another device.
But here is the thing. I love eggs. So I was thinking...."the office!" "Ali's cool. She won't mind the smell of breakfast cooking...will she?"
Well I bit the bullet and bought one. You can see the picture right here of it in use, and I'll have a couple more.
Let me just say, this really works! I tried it today and it really worked and it will work in the office too.
I was intrigued by this picture of a Dualit 4-slice toaster with a sandwich maker accessory.
Can you really make a sandwich in a Euro Pro Kitchen Toaster? Well, apparently you can if it's a Dualit. I'm guessing that with the wide 28mm slots it probably works pretty well.
Some of the review I've seen suggest using that really thin Pepperidge Farms slice bread for best results. This seems like a pretty good idea.
I'm curious about drips and stuff. Will the cheese leak out and into the crumb tray? Anyone have any experience with making a Toaster Sandwich in a Dualit I'd sure like to hear about it.
Wow! Now this Dualit 2 slice toaster is what I call a Man's Appliance....well actually that’s kind of what almost every journalist whose ever reviewed this thing has said about it.
I mean let's face it. Guys make bagels, waffles and for the most part Pop-Tarts. Critical requirements are not just the high throughput of 65 slices per hour but fast heating. It's not the last item toasted, it's the first.
Picture yourself as a young urban man. Home late, up early heading for that job you don't really understand. You need your Pop Tarts NOW and dualit is the brand to bring them to you. I'm guessing you also want to show off. This is your first solo gig in the big city too. You don't want to look like you just stepped out of Seymore or something. When that special guest comes by your shop for the first time you have to make an impression. Since you are a renter, you are probably stuck with the lame appliances that come with your crib. About the only place you can show your mad skills in the kitchen is the flair of a Blue Dualit 2-slice toaster.
And one final note, if you are going to have the best small toaster, you better sock some strudels....chicks dig strudels over pop tarts dude.
I wanted to share the results of my breakfast out of my new egg n muffin toaster. (I used wheat bread by the way.)
Seriously, this is the best toaster you can buy online. (Please don't tell Tefal...)
If you like eggs like I do, then you should reconsider that Breville Stainless Steel Toaster...shun tradition and have some eggs with that toast!
Did you know that the thing somehow coordinates so that the eggs are done at the same time? So this might not be a great picture, but if your goal is to eat Eggs N Toast in the office...where is proof that it can be done.
Try it....bring out the Betty Crocker toaster lover in you.
What's with the British? Here in the United States we crave the Dualit Four Slice Toaster. So why in England do they sell only a three slicer? Seriously....what is the logic behind three slices?
Yet for all my scorn, I'm secretly coveting this. First of all unlike the typical stainless steel toaster, this one is red. And in spite of its impracticability....who else do you know that has a three slice toaster?
My competitive nature and freakish attraction to small kitchen appliances are somehow drawing me to take a trip over to find this Dualit Toaster on Global Toaster.
I had to steal this picture. OMG this is the coolest toaster I've ever seen. This is the Dualit 4-slice toaster and it's like the Airstream of kitchen appliances.
Picture Sunday morning. Everyone still asleep. Nothing to do but blog and watch a movie you know that no one in your family would ever want to see. (today it's some horrible western called: Appoloosa) I can tolerate these movies because I'm able to do my toaster blogging at the same time.
If I had this toaster, it would be whole wheat brown bread with thin layer of peanut butter. The perfect early morning breakfast for the fan of the stainless steel toaster and art deco design...and the watcher of bad Sunday morning westerns.
I'm wondering if the Best Small Toaster Oven might be the Dualit Toaster Oven. Here is what one reviewer said:
"Make the most of the smallest kitchen or studio space by installing a quality table-top oven that can defrost, bake, broil and provide convection cooking all in one compact unit at max high temperature of 450°F"
So if you are setting up in a new apartment, or even an office, this might just be the perfect appliance. Not only is it awesome to look at, but have old world craftmanship that stands up over decades. Invented by Max Gort-Barten in 1946, Dualit is the standard when it comes to quality toasting devices.
I'm going to do some research, is anyone else curious about what a German was doing designing classic metal toaster ovens in England right after World War II?
Ok so although I'm from Indiana and a long time admirer of our native son "Johnny Cougar"....I still struggle to think of the circumstance that could cause me to want a pink dualit 2-slice toaster.
Ok. I love the extra wide slots (28mm) and 65 slice per hour productivity makes all Dualit Toaster products awesome...but pink?
Hmmm... perhaps if my daughter was setting up a new apartment. Maybe her first college apartment. I've got to contribute something. After all the other girls dads will probably buy the TV, maybe they are handy and can paint and stuff.
What can I contribute? I'm focused on only one thing, Toasters...so it will be up to me to provide the most used appliance in the life of on the go college women...and since they are women, it might as well be pink. Wait... not only am I a toaster freak, I might be sexist too?! Guess I'll let her pick her own toaster...
This might be boring to some, but here is my Back to Basics Egg & Muffin Toaster in action.
I just can't wait to eat when I watch this- and the best part is that the eggs are done at the same time that the egg muffins are! It's so ingenius. I can't believe I never heard of this devise before GlobalToaster.
Watch the toast pop up prefectly brown and crispy... you can hear the eggs poaching away too.
Seriously, this is the best two slice toaster I've ever owned.
Easy to use and easy to clean... it is the perfect little black toaster breakfast maching for my office.
I had never even heard of of one of these before, but this thing is the real deal. Look at the steam coming up out of where the eggs are cooking... wow.
Watch my video. You'll want a Back to Basics toaster too.
I'm sure I'm no different than most guys in this world. Who wouldn't want to be Johnny Drama?
All the glory of hanging out with movie stars with none of the pressure. A little TV work and hanging out cooking for your friends and family.
Seems like the perfect life to me. This year I'm going to be watching Johnny with a lot more interest. What kind of toaster do you think he uses to make Pop-Tarts for the boys?
Of course they have to use the best stainless steel toaster available. From what I've seen, it will probably work out to be the Dualit four slice toaster.
It's an honor to sell them here at Global Toaster, but now I'm going to have to wait and pay attention to the kitchen scenes very carefully. I'm guessing it's not a two-slice toaster for Johnny Drama.
Do you think he wants to buy toaster online? Hope he comes to Global Toaster.
Ok I saw this product online today and it seems awesome! I'm not sure if it is even on the market yet, but it seems the perfect solution.
Dualit Toasters offer a rack-like contraption that seems like it might be kind of messy. But for a small kitchen corner toaster or one of the big Tfal Toasters, this appears like it would solve a lot of issues relating to mess.
I use roasting bags all the time when I cook and I use my Panini press frequently... but if I could just pop my sandwich into a bag and grill it in my toaster I'd do that every morning and bring it in my lunch.
I'll keep you posted if I hear anything from these folks but it looks promising.
I'm not sure if anyone would want to buy this CO2 powered Kitchenaid Toaster Stainless or not. I saw a joke about it being the perfect 2 slice toaster for someone delivering toast to balcony residents.
Imagine that. Ordering up toast from the thrid floor from your balcony. "Yo Waiter- up here! Fire up that toast, I'll take two!"
Seriously, hats off to Freddie Yauner for winning the Guinness World Record for Highest Popping Toaster. Obviously, This is not your back to basics Toaster by any means! Far from it... check out the video footage.
In 1946 an Swiss-German Half Catholic Half Jewish Immigrant to England revolutionized the world of toasters by inventing the Dual-Light Toaster. Now known as the Dualit and manufactured on Old Kent Road in England.
Unlike almost every other kitchen appliance in the world, this one is completely hand made from start to finish by an English craftsman. Each Dualit toaster is hand engraved by the craftsman who made it. Get this...you can actually buy replacement parts. What generation is that about?
Everything we have is designed to be bought, used and then thrown away. And here comes this retro throwback. I'd call it Green if it wasn't for the simple fact that green is a new term and nothing 65 years old can be considered green right?
Ok, that's sarcasm of course. I use it because often people ask me if the Dualit four slice toaster is worth the money.
Of course it is! It is a hand crafted work of art that will last forever.
So when I first started to devote my life to the pursuit of everything Toaster, I never expected to have a business partner who was so famous in the whole Toaster-Cartoon Genre.
I mean, who knew there was a complete underground industry devoted to making fun of Jane Toast?
You should be totally flattered that you found this blog and are choosing to buy toaster online here at Global Toaster from this superstar.
Forget that cheap toaster oven that putting your kitchen to shame in the corner, get one of Jane's classic toasters you can be proud of ...and quite the classic comedian toaster she is.
Check out this comic strip ALSO starring my business partner - the lovely Jane Toast:
You are shopping for a new device to cook bread. Naturally, and out of habit, you drift towards the old familiar classic metal toaster. STOP!
Break the mold and consider the Hamilton Beach Green Toaster. Completely retro yet with all the modern features including wide slots, defrost and of course a bagel button just like the commercial bagel toasters. Why does this matter? Because bagels need to be toasted differently on each side of course. Until you have tried it, you really don't have an appreciation for a great bagel.
All that in a package that can only be described as cool.
Forget the avocado of your mother’s appliances and consider this green beauty to make a statement. I saw the term 'counterscape' to describe how new kitchens are becoming real focal points and counter appliances play a huge role. Not to mention efficiently getting your kids out the door as we get towards the first day of school.
Take advantage of the shopping available on the right side of this blog and find your own beauty.
A dream I have is for a beach house. Sort of the old fashioned kind that might be on Cape Cod back in the 40's or the Jersey Shore.
Think about the kitchen in this house...light colors, wood painted cabinets and, of course, the old fashioned refrigerator and stove. The only thing I would really want from the 21st century would be this amazing retro dualit 2 slice toaster.
Fortunately it comes as a green toaster as well as a bunch of other colors.
Why no depend on some old toaster? Well for one thing I don't want my dream beach house to burn to the ground, but I am also addicted to modern conveniences like extra wide 28mm slots for big fat bagels, not to mention the amazing productivity.
I can't believe I talked about toaster fires this afternoon and someone sent me this article already today about a fire in Diluth:
...Saturday morning's fire at 30 East 9th Street, near Mesaba Avenue caused an estimated $90,000 loss to the house and its contents. Firefighters and bystanders rescued two women trapped in the house, and another man jumped from a second–story window.
Investigators have determined the fire started in a toaster, but they aren't sure whether it was in use. The kitchen and main floor of the home suffered heavy damage....
I know this sounds self serving and obviously this is one way that I feed my family, but if you don't take this seriously then the ramifications can be extremely expensive. Toaster Oven Compare sites like Global Toaster are a great place to start when you realize that keeping that thing you got as a wedding present more than 5 years or so probably isn't such a good idea.
